PDF QR Code Tool

Free PDF QR Code Generator

Paste a public PDF link, customize the QR code, and let QRmakerX verify that the code can be decoded before you download it as PNG, SVG or PDF.

PDF link

Use a public URL that opens your PDF in a browser. The PDF file itself is not uploaded to QRmakerX.

Paste the complete https:// link. The link should be accessible to anyone who scans the QR code.
Used only for the downloaded file name and PDF heading. It is not added to the QR destination.
Appearance and reliability
No logo selected

When a logo is added, high error correction is used automatically. Keep the logo small and maintain strong colour contrast for reliable scanning.

Verified preview

Downloads remain disabled until the browser can decode the generated PDF-link QR code successfully.

Enter a public PDF URL, then press Create and verify PDF QR code.

QR image only

Share the verified QR image through your device’s share menu, or download the PNG and open a WhatsApp chat. Your PDF URL is not added to the WhatsApp message text.

Create and verify the QR code first. On supported phones, the first button opens the device share sheet so you can choose WhatsApp.

Your PDF URL and QR design are processed in this browser. The PDF file itself is not uploaded to QRmakerX. External code libraries required to build and verify the QR code are loaded from third-party CDNs.

How to create a QR code for a PDF

A PDF QR code normally stores the public web address of the PDF, not the PDF file itself.

1

Get a public PDF link

Upload the PDF to your own website, cloud storage or another service that provides a link people can open without signing in.

2

Paste the URL and create the QR

Enter the complete PDF link, choose the QR colours, margin and optional logo, then create the code.

3

Verify, test and download

QRmakerX checks that the generated code decodes back to the same URL. Test it on a real phone before printing or publishing it.

Important: the PDF must stay available at the same link

This tool creates a static QR code. If the destination URL changes or access is restricted, the printed QR code will no longer open the document.

Use a public URL

Make sure people can open the PDF without needing your private account or special permissions.

Browser verification

The QR image must decode back to the exact PDF URL before downloads are enabled.

Print-ready formats

Download PNG for general use, SVG for scalable artwork or PDF for convenient printing.

H

Optional logo

Add a small logo while keeping strong contrast and a clear quiet zone around the QR code.

Static QR code

The destination is stored directly in the QR code. QRmakerX does not create a redirect or track scans.

Test before printing

Open the final code on at least one Android phone and one iPhone if your audience uses both.

PDF QR code questions

Key points to understand before printing or sharing a QR code for a document.

Can I make a QR code for a PDF?

Yes. Paste a public web link that opens the PDF. The QR code stores that URL so a phone can open the document after scanning.

Does QRmakerX upload or host my PDF?

No. This page does not upload the PDF file. It creates a QR code from the URL you enter.

Does a PDF QR code expire?

The static QR code does not normally expire. It will stop working if the PDF is removed, the URL changes, or the file becomes private.

Why is the download button disabled?

Downloads are enabled only after the browser generates the QR code and decodes it back to the same PDF URL. Low contrast or an oversized logo can prevent verification.

Can I change the PDF later without changing the QR code?

Only if you keep exactly the same public URL and replace the file behind that URL. If the URL changes, you need to create a new QR code.

Can I download PNG, SVG and PDF?

Yes. After successful verification, all three download formats are enabled.
