This Privacy Policy applies to qrmakerx.site and the QR code, image and utility tools made available through the website.
1. Information entered into QR and utility tools
QRmakerX tools may allow you to enter URLs, text, WiFi details, email addresses, phone numbers, contact details, event information, coordinates, public file links, payment links, social-profile links, JSON, Base64 text or other content.
The main QR generator is designed to process that information locally in your browser. QRmakerX does not intentionally transmit the QR payload to the QRmakerX server for generation or download.
The generated QR code contains or points to the information you provide. Anyone who receives, photographs or scans the code may be able to access that information. A static QR code cannot be remotely changed or recalled after it has been distributed.
Do not place passwords, payment-card information, medical information, government identification numbers, confidential business information or other sensitive data in a QR code unless you fully understand the exposure risk. A WiFi QR code necessarily contains the network credentials required to connect.
2. QR downloads and scan tracking
PNG, SVG and PDF QR downloads are generated in the browser using browser code and externally hosted software libraries. QRmakerX does not currently provide user accounts, dynamic redirects, built-in scan analytics or post-print destination editing for codes created by the free generator.
QRmakerX does not receive a notification merely because somebody scans a static QR code. The destination website or service opened by the QR code may independently collect information under its own privacy policy.
3. Location search, maps and device location
The location tool includes an address-search feature. When you use address search, the search text is sent directly from your browser to the OpenStreetMap Foundation's Nominatim service so that coordinates can be returned. Do not enter private, confidential or sensitive addresses into this search feature.
Interactive maps may request map tiles from OpenStreetMap infrastructure. Those requests may reveal normal connection information to the map provider, including your IP address, browser information, requested map area and the referring website.
The “use my location” feature accesses the browser Geolocation API only after you activate it and the browser grants permission. The browser or device may use GPS, WiFi, mobile-network or other positioning methods. Coordinates are used in the browser to create the location QR code. You can deny or withdraw location permission through your browser or device settings.
4. Image tools
Image tools are designed to process selected images in your browser where technically possible. Some functions may download software models or libraries from third-party content-delivery networks after you activate the tool.
The image itself is intended to remain on your device during browser-based processing. However, third-party resources receive the normal technical information required to deliver their files. Browser and third-party-library behaviour can change, so do not use highly sensitive or confidential images unless you accept that risk.
5. Information collected automatically
When you request a page or file, the hosting provider, web server, security services and content-delivery providers may automatically process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This may include:
- IP address
- Browser, device and operating-system information
- Requested pages, scripts, images and other files
- Date and time of access
- Referring page or website
- Approximate geographic or network information
- Security, abuse-prevention and error-log information
This information may be used for website delivery, security, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, fraud prevention and abuse prevention.
6. Cookies, similar technologies and browser storage
QRmakerX and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, pixels and similar technologies to operate the website, remember choices, protect against abuse, measure advertising performance and deliver advertising.
The QR generator does not intentionally save the QR payload you enter in advertising cookies. Some website features may use local browser storage to remember settings or temporary working data. Browser storage remains associated with your browser and website origin until it expires, is removed by the application or is cleared through your browser settings.
Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies for purposes such as ad delivery, frequency capping, aggregated reporting, measurement, fraud prevention and, where permitted by applicable law and your choices, ad personalisation. Non-personalised ads may still use cookies or similar technologies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, security and fraud prevention.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect website functions, consent records or the relevance and measurement of advertising.
7. Google AdSense and advertising
QRmakerX uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to QRmakerX or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to QRmakerX and/or other sites on the Internet. Depending on applicable law, account settings, location and consent choices, ads may be personalised or non-personalised.
When Google advertising services are used, your browser may send Google information such as the page URL, IP address, browser or device information, approximate location, advertising identifiers and interactions with ads. Google may use this information to provide and improve services, measure advertising, prevent fraud and abuse, and personalise content or advertising where allowed.

You can manage Google ad personalisation through Google Ads Settings. Additional choices may be available through your browser, device or regional privacy controls.
8. Consent management and regional privacy messages
QRmakerX uses Google's consent management platform (CMP) to display a European regulations message to eligible visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The message allows visitors to provide consent and manage available privacy options.
Where required by law, Google and participating advertising partners use the consent choices collected through the CMP before using cookies or local storage and before collecting, sharing or using personal data for advertising purposes. Your available choices and the consequences of those choices may differ by location and applicable law.
Consent choices may be stored in a cookie or similar browser storage so they can be remembered. Clearing browser data, using another browser or device, or changing regional settings may cause the consent message to appear again.
QRmakerX may also use or enable other legally required privacy messages or controls for additional regions as the website, advertising configuration or applicable requirements change.
8A. Other third-party resources and providers
QRmakerX may load or contact third-party services required for fonts, QR generation, PDF creation, maps, address lookup, image processing, hosting, security or content delivery. Current examples may include Google Fonts, cdnjs, OpenStreetMap map tiles and the OpenStreetMap Nominatim search service.
When your browser contacts one of these providers, the provider may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser information, requested resource and referring page. Address search also sends the search text you enter to the geocoding provider.
Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. QRmakerX does not control their independent data practices, availability or retention periods.
9. Support communications
When you contact QRmakerX by email or through a linked communication service, your message is processed by your provider and QRmakerX's communication provider.
The information may include your name, email address, message, screenshots, device details and any other information you choose to provide. It is used to review, respond to and resolve your request, maintain service records and prevent abuse.
Do not send passwords, payment-card information, government identification documents, private QR payloads or other unnecessary sensitive information in a support message.
10. Data retention
QRmakerX retains support communications and related records only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain service records, protect the website, comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Hosting, email, security, advertising, consent-management, map, font, content-delivery and other third-party providers may apply their own retention periods. Advertising and consent information is retained according to the settings and policies of the relevant provider and applicable law.
11. Data security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect the website and support communications. However, no website, email service, browser-storage system, software library or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for testing generated QR codes, controlling where they are shared and ensuring that their destinations and embedded information are appropriate.
12. Children's privacy
QRmakerX is a general-audience utility website and is not specifically directed to children below the age at which they may legally consent to data processing in their country. QRmakerX does not knowingly request children to submit sensitive personal information.
13. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or other control over personal information associated with you.
You may also manage cookies through your browser, manage Google ad personalisation through Google Ads Settings, and use the choices presented through Google's consent message where available.
To submit a privacy request relating to information controlled by QRmakerX, use the Contact page. QRmakerX may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Requests concerning information independently controlled by Google or another provider may need to be directed to that provider.
14. External links and QR destinations
QRmakerX may link to third-party websites, and QR codes generated through the website may open third-party destinations selected by users. QRmakerX is not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, legality or content practices of those external services.
15. International processing
Hosting, email, security, mapping, geocoding, font, content-delivery and other providers may process technical information in countries different from your own. Applicable safeguards depend on the provider, service configuration and relevant law.
16. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when website functions, third-party services, operational practices or legal requirements change. The revised date will appear at the top of this page.
